Lesson 1
Forex is just short form for foreign exchange, basically meaning,
and the market of trading foreign currency. There are over $3
trillion a day in transactions, which make this the biggest market
on the planet. The Forex market really started to grow when the
Internet started to become very common in the average persons home.
Before this, only the largest banks and corporations could profit
in this market, but now ordinary people from their homes can too.
Brokers have been growing in size, making a massive market
competing for your business to be your broker. You can start off
with as little as $250 to start trading in Forex.
Basically how it works for you to make money is quite simple. You
buy and sell it for more later, but it is a little more complicated
than that because there are many different currencies. You are
essentially leveraging one currency against another. This is quite
a powerful thing that makes currency trading very profitable in
both good and bad economic times.
The best thing about Forex is that it is open 24hrs a day. It's not
like you have to work a regular 9-5. You can pick your own hours
and you're given a huge degree of flexibility. Another benefit is
the fact that you're trading money. Which is essentially trading
the most liquid thing you can. When you invest in something like a
business, it takes time to get your money back. When you're trading
money, you got money regardless.
To trade currency, you need an online Forex broker that will allow
you to do this from a members area on a website or with a program
you download on the computer. I will go into this in the next lesson.
